A selection of playlists

Here's a bunch of playlists that I've encountered or pulled together

British Street Party - for those holding street parties next weekend, here's a load of utterly British tracks
Glastonbury '11 - for those getting super psyched about Glasto!
An ease in to QOTSA - for those who don't know Queens Of The Stone Age, this starts off with their more melodic stuff and slowly moves you in to the Mojave Metal sound which they're so well known for. If you don't know them and you're going to Glasto, check this.

And then some awesome gig setlists...
Radiohead | Victoria Park | 25th June 2008
Fleetwood Mac | Wembley Arena | 30th October 2009
Muse | Wembley | 10th September 2010

Friday tunes 23 (a little late again)

A little delayed again. I need to convince IT to give me Spotify back. Why would they take it away? WHY?!

Albums
The Music – The Music - An Indie-Rock blast from the past
Katy B – On A Mission - Pleasantly surprised with this one. Wasn't expecting her to be a dub step and garage artist. Go Katy! Heard "On A Mission" before - tune!

Single tracks
Katy B – Movement - My tune of the week, great garage track
The Music – Getaway - Massive tune from my Boro Indie Clubbing days
The Music – Drugs - My favourite track from their 2008 album "Strength In Numbers"
Ronny Jordan – The Jackal - Oooo, funk. Thanks CJ
RJD2 – All For U - Feat. Aceyalone. Just discovered it sitting unplayed on my iPod - so pleased with it. Great RJD2 with a cool brass phrase. Very Herbaliser.

Running tunes
Deadmau5 – For Lack Of A Better Name (Continuous Mix) - This has given me so much mileage, possibly my favourite running mix. There are some massive running pick-me-ups between 7 mins and 20 mins.

London summer festivals
Just bought tickets to the Saturday are Wireless (2nd July). The line up is awesome:

Also, Amazon are doing their MP3 sales again. Whoop!

Friday tunes 22 (a little late)

Spotify’s been down at work (damn the IT overlords), so been minimal online listening this week. However, I have been racking up plays of...

Beady Eye – Different Gear, Still Speeding – For all those Oasis fans
The Whip – X Marks Destination – Interesting mix of electro grime and some poppier stuff. Preference for the grime: Trash, Divebomb, Muzzle #1,
Soul Position “Unlimited EP” (Groove Shark link) – produced by RJD2 back in 2002. Cool chilled out hip-hop. I'm particularly loving "Oxford You Really Owe Me"
TM Juke – Maps From The Wilderness - More chilled-out hip-hoppie shizzle
Stanton Warriors – The Warriors – Their new album, makes me so happy
Plump DJs – Eargasm – some more grr

Single tracks
The Whip – Muzzle No.1 - Original – Back from 2007, part of the Hot Chip-esque explosion
Plump DJs – Funk Hits The Fan  - Loved this one for so long. Sweet pick-me-up when out on a run
