BUG Special | Bjork

The playlist from BUG at the BFI's music video night, this time focussing on the weird, beautiful and brilliant Bjork

And here's a Spotify playlist for good measure
Bjork BUG Special

1. Human Behaviour - cool and surreal animal animation

2. Army of Me - more urban oddities. Great track

3. Hidden Place - Little annoyed with this video of Bjork's face. Seems to take away the quality of the track

4. Wanderlust - Swimming bison, water gods, orchestral horns and background breakbeats

5. Nature is Ancient - Weird soupy organisms

6. Oceana - More soupy-ness, this time with a very sparkly Bjork

7. All is Full of Love - Beautiful robot love video and a beautiful track

8. Triumph of a Heart - Bizarre acapella cat / Icelandic binge drinking video

9. Bachelorette - Epic track and a really cool infinity concept video

10. Big Time Sensuality - Cool video and dance track with Bjork on the back of a truck driving through NYC

11. Crystalline - Button Moon lasers and crystals

12. It's Oh So Quiet - Classic big band Bjork.

Friday tunes 40

Albums
Trentemøller – Reworked/Remixed – an awesome bunch of remixes spanning a range of genres

In celebration of seeing them live at the O2 last night, here’s a bunch of Grooveshark links to give you access to four of their incredible albums. Rumours are they visited Spotify in Stockholm this month, so watch that space!

Single tracks
Lars and The Hands of Light – Me Me Me - Trentemøller Remix – Definitely a happy Friday tune. Sort of a mixture between the Dandy Warhols and The Monkeys
The Dø – Too Insistent - Trentemøller Remix – Feel’s like some pretty chilled Lykke Li
Kasper Bjørke – Does Not Matter feat. The Pierces - Trentemøller Remix – Yet another beautiful track. Imagine The Doves with a female vocalist
Trentemøller – Tide - Alternative Instrumental Version – Some great Trentemoller intensity
Trentemøller – Moan - Trentemoeller Remix – Incredible. Great beat, intense in a really sinister kind of way and great light female vocals

Friday tunes 39

Albums
Amadou & Mariam – Welcome To Mali – The blind husband and wife duo who’ve inspired the likes of Manu Chao and Damon Albarn amongst others. This one’s one of the best selling albums to come out of Africa. Cheers ZH
daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra – Unfinished Symphony Remixed – Reminding me of Herbaliser. Funky hip-hop with amazing production and instrumentals
Groove Armada – Goodbye Country (Hello Nightclub) – Brightened up my first week of winter. Thanks VS for reminding me to have a listen. I had to star ‘Little by Little’, ‘My Friend’, ‘Edge Hill’, ‘Tuning In’ and ‘Join Hands’ immediately – and that’s without even considering ‘Superstylin’!
Nu:Tone – Words And Pictures Sampler – an awesome new little EP to come from this D&B chappie from Cambridge.

Single tracks
daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra – Triple Threat – a follow-on from ‘Reap What You Flow’, but with some sweet jazz solos! Nice.
Professor Green – Spinning Out (feat. Fink) – a little Fink gem hiding in Prof Green’s album!
Nu:Tone Featuring Natalie Williams – Shine In – Been bouncing to this since Tuesday. Nu:Tone, give me more with Nat Williams!
Nu:Tone – Set Me Free – and he’s just gone for some dirty breaks!
